Kinometer is a movie database for cinephiles. It's got most of the features and films available on major movie databases, along with many features that you haven't seen anywhere else!

Use shortcuts in applicable search fields such as: not, or, min, max, before, after, < >. Use a long click to close filters.
Genres, regions and tags are grouped and organized into categories. The beauty of grouping tags is that if a film is tagged with something like 'cats', it will also appear in searches for 'felines' and 'animals'. A search for crime films will also include mysteries and film noirs. You can search regions like East Europe or Asia instead of just countries. You can also search decades like 1990s.
The growing collection of film tags offers fresh ways to look at film content. For example, here's a menu of tags or grouped tags for Pasolini's features films. You can pull up a menu of tags for any query, like the films you've seen this year versus the films you've seen last year, so there is plenty of opportunities to psychoanalyze yourself, your friends, directors, decades, regions, et cetera, particularly once more tags are added.
You can narrow down your search results in complex ways, like here's a menu of female directors who made black & white movies on the subject of alienation in the 1980s... it's a tiny list for now, but it's sure to grow with your contributions!

GENERAL FEATURES

BROWSE FILMS

Clicking on any filter within a film box starts a new search while selecting any filter within the side menu gets integrated into existing search results. Every page can be sorted by most/least seen, most/least wanted, highest/lowest rating, longest/shorted duration, latest/earliest year, a to z, as well as your rating and your seen date. Every film has link to its imdb page when available.

SAVE FILMS

Save films with one click. Besides marking films as seen or want, you can save rewatches or change the seen date. To place films into your like filter, you must give them a rating of 8 or more stars. With a premium account, you can make your ratings private, or make specific films you've seen private, or make everything you watch private.

PROFILES

Customize your profile with an optional background image, icon, and description. Your profile shows a random film you've seen, the latest film you like, and many more filters. Your profile also has a posts section for communication.

FAVES

Fave directors, credits, genres, regions, tags, lists, companies, festivals, and notes. Your faves are available as menus and as filters sorted by latest additions, so you get something like faves feeds.

FILM LISTS

Add films to multiple lists, categorize lists, and re-sort lists by various parameters. Social lists are available for films, directors, and credits, and any user can add films to these collaborative lists. With a premium account, you can make lists private or friends only. List category ideas are welcome!

FILM NOTES

Add multiple notes to any film, search notes*, categorize notes, and change note dates. With a premium account, you can make notes private or friends only. Note category ideas are welcome!

USERS

Look for friends on the users page which is sorted by latest login. User descriptions are searchable.

FRIENDS

Add friends and quickly filter what all your friends have seen, like, or not seen, so you don't have to click on individual profiles to keep up.

RECOMMEND FILMS

When you have friends, you can send them film recommendations with optional notes.

IMPORT/EXPORT

Import imdb ratings or watchlist csv files as well as export your seen, want, and notes csv files. Our export files include imdb ids when available.

EDIT FILMS AND FILTERS

Easily add or edit films, directors, credits, tags, companies, and festivals. Your contributions are availaible as filters. Edits are processed daily.
